Baby Soft

Self-improvement is a funny thing. Photography is one of those areas I actually love doing it but rarely do. For years now my darling man and mother have encouraged me to take this thing that I love and run with it. To learn more, to shoot more, to explore. I dip my toe in and pull it back out. I never take the plunge. I've decided to pour as much as of myself as I can spare into taking beautiful pictures and making them even more beautiful. Lucky for me, I have five jewels just waiting to be captured. Here's one now...

Here is my SOOC shot of my sweet girl Marian basking in the early evening sun yesterday.

Love the baby, not crazy about the shot. Especially the way the sun puts emphasis on her mottled and newborn acne plagued skin. After searching for a awhile I found a few resources to help me improve my shot without making her look like a baby doll.

Angie Warren's newborn skin tutorial was a lifesaver. After following the directions and those over at CoffeeShop for thier Baby Powder Room action and applying my gorgeous Florabella actions, I had this. Perfection? No. But I feel a little closer to beauty for having tried it.
